Unity Wireless ships CDMA power amplifiers to customer in China
Canada-based Unity Wireless Corporation announced it has commenced shipments in the framework of its first RF (radio frequency) power amplifier supply agreement with one of China’s largest builders of CDMA and GSM repeater systems.
The Company did not name the customer, but revealed that it employs 200 people in 8 offices, has relationships with OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) wireless infrastructure equipment vendors in China and provides network installation services to China’s wireless service providers.
The initial order is valued at US$186,500. Unity began shipping the order in December 2001, and the final deliveries are scheduled to be shipped in January 2002.
RF power amplifiers delivered under the supply agreement are required to meet the specification under the Customer’s repeater supply contract with China Unicom and are anticipated to be used in Unicom’s national CDMA wireless telecommunications network build- out.
“We believe that this agreement is very significant given that it is our first in China and the Customer is an OEM supplier to some of China’s largest domestic infrastructure suppliers including ZTE Corporation and Shanghai Datang,” commented Dave Orton, Unity Wireless Corporation’s VP of Corporate Marketing and leader of the Asian sales effort.
