Home of the 9x23mm, and Dane Burns, Pistolsmith. Dane is one of the BEST out there, and that is not hyperbole. Dane specializes in high end 1911's for carry. Typically he builds 5" 1911 single stack guns. That consumes about 95% of his shop time, although he doesn't spend 95% of his time in his shop. One of the things that makes Dane so good is that he is a competitive shooter himself. He's also a law enforcement officer, so he combines street knowledge with competition knowledge.

Custom carry 1911's are my specialty. Unlike most custom shops, I don't use assembly line, mass production methods. Instead, each gun is built to perfection, one at a time, with attention paid to the tiniest of details. I believe that reliability is the #1 factor in all handgun modifications. There's a balance between reliability and accuracy that must be maintained. A handgun that is capable of 3/4" accuracy at 50 yards is worthless unless it functions every time. A handgun that is capable of 1 1/2" to 2" groups at 50 yards AND functions every time is worth its weight in gold.
