Who we are

Established in 2006, Sahara Inland Mission is a not-for-profit organisation committed to sharing the love of God in unreached parts of India. We are child-focused, Christ-centred, and people-oriented in all we do. Our job is to improve the lives of under-privileged children, their families and communities. Moreover, our approach puts children at the centre of community development.

SIM is engaged with socially and economically under-privileged individuals and groups, to empower them for personal and community transformation. This empowerment comes from knowing the Agape love of God through the power of the Spirit, and becoming part of the kingdom of God on earth.

SIM networks with local and international partners to enhance the relevance, impact and sustainability of our programs.

SIM is a registered non-profit organization in India and is supported by individual donors as well as a sponsorship program for the children.

SIM has Representatives that coordinate sponsors from around the world. We are international and interdenominational, with a common belief in the important things about our Faith.

Important Information

Mission

The mission of SIM is to expand God’s kingdom through compassionate service to all people, especially the poor and marginalised in society, providing adequate care, protection, rehabilitation and support with innovative service.

Vision

The needy and deprived people in Indian society, particularly rural communities, have complete support, protection and care, bringing positive change in their lives.

Why SIM?

Sahara Inland Mission (SIM) is an indigenous mission organization committed to reaching India with the partnership of God’s people from across the world. We are child-focused, Christ-centered and people-oriented in all we do.

We embrace and serve children, families, and communities, irrespective of caste, color, culture, education, or creed. We work for the transformation and empowerment of underprivileged individuals and communities.

Our commitment to Christ

Jesus is a foundation of our ministry. We follow Jesus’ example to show unconditional love to the poor and oppressed.

Our commitment to children

To bring up responsible and productive citizens in society through teaching, counseling, and nurturing orphans and poverty stricken children, facilitating their education and providing employability training to equip them with the knowledge and skills needed to live healthy and wholesome lifestyles.

Our commitment to communities

To demonstrate God’s unconditional love for all people through our service.

Future Plan

The Sahara Inland Mission will be reaching out to more communities in rural and tribal districts of the Indian subcontinent. This is where children are the most unreached and neglected by mainstream society, and in great need of love, care and resources.

Ministries

Sahara Baal Bhavan (The Sahara Orphanage)

The Sahara Baal Bhavan (Sahara Orphanage) began on November 15th 1993 when my family took in five orphan children from our community who had no one to care and provide for them. Bringing these children into our lives brought us a deep awareness of their plight and a desire to do more. We began to discover that many more children were desperately lacking the security and sustenance of a home and parental care. This is how Sahara Orphanage became established.

School in Village

Many children cannot afford to go school because the closest one is too far away, or the tuition is too high. Many Indians realise that the best chance to get out of poverty is for their children to get a quality education.

Therefore, we have started village schools. In this way we are planning to start in a few areas, it costs about $7575 to set up a new school. This includes rent deposit, chairs and tables, books, school supplies, etc.

Widows Ministry

At present we have 12 widows in SIM. India is very poor and backward economically. Expect in very few cases most of the Indian women are house wives. Men are bread winners. When a person dies his wife becomes helpless. Unless such widows are comforted and care for, they have to lead most miserable and lonely life in their old ages. SIM shows the love of Jesus to such destitute. By providing food, clothing, shelter and medical care etc. We are convinced that all who belong to Jesus are one in His body the church.
